Back in Vegas

I became an official member of the Memphis Grizzles on Sunday when I finally signed my rookie contract. I was very excited to be signed, but it was short lived because minutes after I signed I was off again to Las Vegas. I ran into Julian Wright in Phoenix while waiting for a connecting flight to Vegas. He also was headed to Vegas for the camp. There are a lot of players here for this Vegas camp (Amare Stoudamire, Julian Wright, Richard Jefferson, Al Horford, Acie Law) just to name a few. We basically work on skill development in the morning session and run full scrimmages in the night cap. Everyone is staying at the Palms and it's one of the better hotels if you ask me. There's no telling who you will see in the lobby. I'm very excited about the upcoming season. I think we will be a very exciting team. Rudy Gay, Damon Stoudamire, Hakim Warrick and Andre have been working out with me in Vegas and we've been doing really well. They have us on the same team during the scrimmages. I will head back to Memphis on Friday and let you guys know how the rest of the camp goes.

  How did you become ambidextrious and a good ball handler and passer and do you have any drills that I could do?

    I can't explain how I became ambidextrious, I'm naturally right handed but as a young kid I always shot the ball with my left hand it just felt comfortable for me to shoot lefty instead of righty. Passing is just a feel for the game the more you play the more you learn where the ball needs to be. I can't really explain the ball handling, I practice it but I think a lot of that may come natural. I've always been a good ball handler since I was a kid.

  it has to be surreal what is happening, consdeirng 1 and 1/2 years ago you were at LN, a year ago at Ohio State...and now...playing with the best in the NBA...in a few years, other rookies will say the same thing...I am playign with the best in the NBA..ie Mike Conley...remember us in Pineridge Estates, Indy...
