Some Quick Notes
1. My Colts have been hit by the injury bug and I'm very worried about what we will look like at the start of the post season. 2. I assume quite a few of you who read my blog watch college basketball, lookout for Eric "EJ" Gordon this year. He should be a monster in the B10 this year. It's amazing how good our AAU team was a couple years ago... PG - Me ( Memphis Grizzlies ) SG- Eric Gordon SF- Daequan Cook ( Miami Heat) PF- Josh Mcroberts ( Portland Trailblazers) C-- Greg Oden ( Portland Trailblazers) I gotta give a shout out to my man Grayson ( Gardner-Webb) for going into Rupp and dropping 22 on the Wildcats. He also played on my AAU team. If any of you have any specific questions you want to ask about NBA or college leave them in replies and I will answer them in a couple days.

Do you ever think what could have happened if you, Greg, and Daequan came back? That would have been a guaranteed national championship in my opinion. Good luck with the Grizzlies!

I imagine your AAU team was filled with Indiana boys that showed promise as young as 6 years old, and who had major outside influences put you guys in this sort of royal company. Who were the people that helped you get here today, aside from obviously yourself, your parents, Coaches Keeler and Mata, and that insane roster of kids you played summerball with?
Are you familiar with the term "Convery belt?" You rode the conveyor belt on your way up to the NBA, and I'm wondering how you feel about all those situations where young kids are taken in, used up and spit out if they can't hit a jumper or dunk at 14?

What are some of the things you have spent your pay check on so far besides, the crib, and range ?
Whats your dream, that you gonna hold out on ?
You thinking about starting a foundation of any type, or team up with greg and josh on something ?

What are some good drills for my ball handling and shooting?
But dayum! your AAU team was loaded!

... and how come you arent getting any playing time dude?
Mr_Rosewater replied November 16, 2007
I think he had 10 points and 9 assists in 22 minutes last week. And he had 6 and 6 last night in 18. That's damn good for a rookie only a few games into the season.
scnbenstein replied November 19, 2007
what do you think about him?

EJ is definitely going to have a BIG season. I don't understand how people are sleeping on him. I think he's the best perimeter player in college basketball. Like Lupe Fiasco said... He'll just have to "Backflip on the same matress they slept on him on". That AAU team was amazing. The most amazing thing is three of the players are from the Indianapolis Metro area and in the NBA (Soon to be four with Gordon)! It's good to see Nap Town representing.
My question... How are you dealing with not being the starter or playing a lot of minutes for the first time in your whole basketball career?

What is your favorite thing about playing in the NBA and being a pro-athlete?
Does it weird you out that people you've never met recognize you? Any funny stories about that? How do you like being famous?
A few weeks after I was drafted I moved in with my cousin in Memphis. We would go bowling all the time and one day after a few games a young lady came up to me and said "Has anyone ever told you, you look like Mike Conley Jr". I replied "Yes, my mom ". She then says "you're not Mike Conley, let me see some I.D".
I normally keep a low profile, I don't really go out much especially during the season and when I do most people don't know its me. That of course is more difficult to do in Indy and especially Columbus.

So, is playing professional basketball your dream job? If you weren't a professional basketball player, what other profession would you like to try?

I'm finishing up my last year of high school. I'm starting the the point guard position and playing on varsity for my BROTHER.lol. My game is pretty nice (not trying to sound cocky at all), and I want to play on the collegiant level when I graduate. I live in Washington state and i kind of want to go to U-Dub. My question is what type of advice would you give a point guard for this upcoming season im going into. Oh yeah, this is my first year at this school and I just moved here from Detroit Michigan for a better look at life. So yeah, I'm out here with a new team, I'm fitting in with the team good. I don't feel any negativity from the guys because my bro brought me here to play for him and I happen to be starting.lol. But I just was wondering if you have some advice for me.
-Thankz man.

I've got you on my fantasy team right now. Your sittin on the bench, obviously, especially now that you've got the sore shoulder. But I really like to have at least 1 rookie on my team. Obviously, your minutes have been limited, but it seems like when you do get playing time, you're putting up great stats, relative to your time on the court. I dropped Belinelli and Acie Law for vets, but I've been sticking with you thus far. What do you think? Should I hold on to you for a while, or do you think that its going to take a little bit until you get those solid minutes on the court, post-recovery? No doubt, you're going to be a great fantasy player in years to come. Anyway, good luck with the recovery,
Grizz33 said November 23, 2007
I was so upset to hear about your shoulder--I hope you get well soon! I'll definitely be praying for you.
Is there anyone on the team that you feel you have made really good friends with? A lot of people are worried about how the team's chemistry is coming together so far.
Good luck with your rehab! Starting in December I'm gonna be sitting under the goal on yall's side of the court, so maybe I'll see you there! I'm bringing my little nephews to Autograph Alley on Saturday and they really want to meet you, so I hope you'll be around.
