Dream Come True
I really dont know how to put in to words how im feeling at the moment. The draft couldnt of turned out any better in my opinion. I got to see my boy Greg walk across as the number 1 pick and then i hear my name called as the number 4 pick! I felt that the Atlanta Hawks pick was the most important pick of the draft. When David Stern walked out with the results of the 3rd pick i could barely breath. I had no idea what he was about to say. Once i heard Al Horford's name i exhaled and looked at my family members who live in the city of Memphis and just smiled :) . I knew i was headed to the Memphis Grizzlies. Its crazy to me because a year ago i never would of thought that i would be in the situation that I am in right now. It seems like just yesterday i was graduating from Lawrence North and trying to figure out how im going to make it in college. Now im headed to the NBA to play for the Memphis Grizzlies. Wow, its almost hard for me to ever show emotion but tonight was a night that i will remember for the rest of my life so i had to open up. Im so excited to get to Memphis and start my career. I actually will be there in about 7 hours so who knows if ill ever get to sleep tonight haha.

Congrads on the big night! We are so proud of you here in Columbus. We were all celebrating for you and Greg. When you was picked everbody in the room went outside and was yelling and screaming. Of course we started yelling O-H and what do you think the response was! It was truly amazing. Within min. the whole block was outside chanting back and forth! I really hope to see you succeed! I can't wait until the Blazers' and Grizzlies' play. That will be a "can't miss" game!
Good luck Mike. -
Ferrari, is that a nickname you'd like to hear now ? ;)
-
Ha i wouldn't mind being called Ferrari at all.
-
Mike Conley alias Ferrari in a Ferrari might be a nice thought then.
-
Congratulations!!!! I know the whole draft/coming back to OSU thing was a hard decision for you, but you made the right choice! I look forward to watching you in the NBA. Good luck and enjoy Memphis! I've never been but I hear the food is pretty good!
-
CONGRATS MIKE! You're gonna do just fine Homie!
-
What a run you gave Buckeye fans! We won't forget. Hopefully Memphis will get more TV time
-
congrats, Mike. You and I now have something in common. Mark Iavaroni coached me at a BGSU basketball camp when he was an assistant there. Does he still say, "Get it. Got it. Good!"?
-
you made it to the big time....have fun in memphis. gasol, rudy gay, and mike conley, jr? thats gonna be a nasty starting lineup playing some serious up tempo basketball.
-
Wow! Your gonna be a star in Memphis. Pau is very underrated and I think they'll play Run 'N Gun next year and you will thrive in it. Best of luck, Mike.
-
#4.............you the man Conley, I like that Ferrari name, it fits you nice. Great job, you deserve it. As a Buckeye fan, you did us proud dog! Thank you and have a wonderful carreer.
-
Congrats!! I def see you being an impact player in Memphis. PG are the leaders on the floor and although Memphis has a good core they're missing that leader out there. Do you think that physically you'll be ready for the 82 games excluding the playoffs?
-
Thanks Mike! That's pretty cool that the day after your biggest day in your life you managed to blog with us.
Like I said, " this dude is cold". Fourth overall for a 6'1 PG, WOW!
Best of luck! -
Congrats Mike! We wanted to see Pritchard do SOMETHING to get you here too, but I am sure you will do great in Memphis.
How do you feel about missing the opportunity to play and meet regularly with West? I would think that would have just been amazing! -
you'll get to sleep plenty... you're not old enough to go out on the town.
-
Gratz man. Enjoy TN.
-
I bet the dream would be better if it wasn't the Grizzlies...
-
I can see you kickin' it down there with Mike Miller and Pau Gasol already......Congrats!
-
as a grizzlie's fan let me say congrats to you on your play on the court for the grizz. now all we need is a center for pau ,and you can help us win , oh, enjoy memphis it is a great place to live .
-
Congrats cuz! Everybody is proud of you and happy for you back in Chi! So now when we shoot hoops at Wink's house we will be shooting with a star. Big ups and see you on the fourth.
Esa -
Congrats Big Mike.
So happy for you man.
Any thoughts yet on your teammates? You've got some good under-rated dudes on there. Now they've got an all-heart PG. Go Grizz! -
FERRARI!!! That's a brilliant nickname for you Michael. Wear it with pride.
-
Glad we picked you. I'm a Jackson, TN boy living up in Vail, CO- fellow blogger- I joined Yardbarker today just for you, buddy. I put my first Mike Conley, Jr. post up this morning, and if you ever want to read about yourself during the upcoming season, just pop on over.
-
Congrats on being the 4th pick in the NBA Draft Mike. I heard you on the Jim Rome show, you show a lot of poise and maturity on and off the court for a guy who's only gone through 1 year of college. What do you think about some of your new teammates, who are crazy athletic freaks like Hakim Warrick, Rudy Gay and Stromile Swift and would you like to see this team a major move in the offseason?
-
It is truly amazin, I read over 100 comments from the fans of the Atlanta Hawks and most of them wanted the Hawks to draft Mike Conley and yet they drafted another BIG guy. Well, Atlanta's loss is Memphis's gains. As a Grizzley fan now I understand how lucky we may be by drafting Mke because he will be the quarterback of the team. Thanks, Mike.
-
embrace the city and the local spots like they are embracing you. you are going to own that town. congrats
-
congrats man i hope you do great in the nba

Congratulations! Memphis has a very talented young team. Gasol is one of the top centers in the league, Gay is a really talented forward, Warrick is a talented player and Miller is a great veteran player.
-
Congratulations Ferrari! Two Indianapolis natives going in the top four of the NBA Draft! Way to represent!
-
Mike-as a loyal Buckeye fan, I cannot tell you how proud I am of you, Greg and Daequan.
Your parents have done a wonderful job with you and you have made them proud.
God bless you and much, much success. -

Congratulations, Mike. YOU DESERVE IT! You will fit right in in Memphis. We'll miss ya up here in Ohio though.
Just wondering if you remember meeting me? At Polaris, you were with Greg and David, and Greg was leaving Sprint. No joke, best day of my life.
Also, my brother got you and Greg's autograph in his agenda for me after exams one day. To Aubry. Yeah, it's framed and matted in my room, right next to the poster I got at the OSU Bball Celebration and my rally towel :)

Welcom to Memphis and to the Grizzlies Mike. I had my fingers crossed hoping the Hawks would pass on you because I think you are just what this team and city needs to get this program going. You are most definitely my favorite player now and I look forward to watching the Ferrari drive this team to the top.
-

How far is Memphis from indy ??
-
Hey Mike what did you think of the guys heckling and impersonating Stephen A. Smith with the sock puppet?
-
congratulations mike!! buckeye nation will be rooting for your success.
-
Congratulations man, it's great for you to be going to Memphis, your in a great position with a team that needs a true PG to lead them. You got two of my favorite players in Rudy Gay and Hakim Warrick to run with now. Stay how you are (down to earth) and continue to work hard and you will be a star before you know it. Have fun this year. -
Congrats big man. Glad to have you here in Memphis, and I'm anticipating the first jumpball of the new season. I think with you and Lowry at the helm of running the team, you two guys can be hell to deal with in about 2 more seasons. I've already forgiven you for being so nasty to our hometown Tigers and with alot more W's from you on the Grizzlies end can help that forgiveness become a complete afterthought. I look forward to that first jumpball of the season! HappyfellainMemphis
-
Hell yeah boy its crazy, you gonna kill though.
-
I was wondering when GO would post on Mike's blog! :)
GO WATCH SOME ENTOURAGE! -
Congrats Mike- we are all happy for you! Hope Memphis appreciates what they got!!
-
Congratulations, Mike! You had a great season at Ohio St. and I know you're going to have very bright future in the NBA. I haven't watched the Grizzlies since Jason Williams was there back in 2001. I can't wait to start watching them again.
