Minnesota Timberwolves: Insane Stat Shows Anthony Edwards Is On His Way To Becoming Franchise GOAT
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

No one expected Anthony Edwards to be this good at this stage of his young career. An insane stat about his playoff performance this year just showed his potential to be the Minnesota Timberwolves’ GOAT in the coming years.

Just recently, Edwards led the Timberwolves in a dominant fashion to sweep Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns. In the four games he played against them, the All-Star shooting guard notched 31.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 2.0 steals per contest. He also connected 51 percent from the field, 43 percent from beyond the arc, and 83 percent from the free throw line.

After sweeping the Suns, the Wolves advanced to the next round to face Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. In the first game of their series, Ant-Man put on an impressive show once again by dropping 43 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. His performance helped the T-Wolves get the 106-99 win in the Nuggets’ own home court.

The victory not only gave Minnesota the momentum, it also showcased the guard’s dominance for everyone to see. Personalities, such as Stephen A. Smith, Metta World Peace, Kevin Garnett, and Dirk Nowitzki have rained praises on the All-Star shooting guard for displaying an immense level of talent and leadership for his age.

Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star Guard Anthony Edwards’ Insane Playoff Stat

The T-Wolves are a franchise that boasts a few notable names, such as Garnett and Sam Cassell. The thing is, the young shooting guard has surpassed both stars to score the most points in the playoffs, a stat which can be seen in a post ClutchPoints shared on X:

As the numbers have shown, Edwards is truly the alpha of this iteration of the franchise. A total of six 35+ point-games eclipses what all the other guys who played for the team is a feat that’s pretty hard to match, especially by a franchise like the T-Wolves.

With Ant-Man’s performance against the Nuggets, it looks like there’s going to be an intense and exciting series ahead. This gives the young star more opportunities to cement his case the GOAT of Minnesota and become the next face of the NBA.
