In addition to confirming the trade for kicker Dustin Hopkins the Cleveland Browns announced a few more roster decisions. Both concern players at depth on the interior offensive line.
Guard Drew Forbes was added to the non-football injury list (NFI). This designation will keep him with the team but not count him toward the 53-man roster. He will be required to be away from the team for a minimum of the first six weeks of the season. If he is not taken off the list and added back to the roster by week eight, he will remain on the list and be ineligible to play this year.
The other move announced was the Browns have terminated the contract of guard Wes Martin. Martin is a vested veteran and not subject to waivers. Like Michael Dunn who we wrote about earlier, he will immediately become a free agent and be able to sign anywhere he would like. Signing back either of the two to the roster or practice squad is a viable option. This would probably take place after the team places certain players on the in season injured reserve list.
The roster currently stands at 72 as of now. Be sure to follow our roster cutdown tracker at the link below.
